After the world premiere, the powerful reaction of the audience and numerous praising articles that appeared in the international press urged us to present to you the review of the British magazine Screen Daily on Luka feature (by Neil Young).

After five writer-director collaborations with Peter Brosens, Jessica Woodworth makes an ambitious solo feature-debut with stylized black-and-white parable Luka.

Inspired by Dino Buzzati’s 1940 novel ’The Tartar Steppe’ — a landmark of world literature -the film engages with a visually arresting magic-realism. It is a co-production between Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands and Bulgaria-Armenia with spectacular settings and a magnetic supporting turn by iconic veteran Geraldine Chaplin. Jessika Woodworth strives to create a timeless legendary tale, however, her protagonists do not long to achieve the larger-than-life status.
