The 5th edition of Yerevan International Short Film Festival will be held on November 18-20 in the Kotayk region in a joint initiative of the National Cinema Center of Armenia and the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. The aim of the festival is to contribute to the formation of a new generation of filmmakers, to help young creators find their place in modern cinema, to strengthen the ties between Armenian and foreign filmmakers and to facilitate the exchange of experience between them.

 

Prizes will be awarded in 11 nominations of the festival program which consists of two parts - the International competition and the National competition.  The screenings will be held in the towns of Hrazdan, Tsaghkadzor and Abovyan. The audience will have an opportunity to watch award-winning short films from prestigious international film festivals.

 

Masterclasses, creative meetings, Q&A sessions and presentations will take place within the framework of the festival. Admission to the festival's film screenings and events is free.

 

This year the festival received more than 500 applications from 68 countries. 33 films from 10 countries are selected: 18 for the national competition and 15 for the international competition
