National Cinema Center of Armenia in partnership with the National Center of Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC-Centre National du Cinéma et de l'Image Animée) and the Cité Internationale des Arts, announces a grant competition: writing residency for emerging and mid-career filmmakers who are currently developing a feature-length fiction or animation project.
Residency Period
July 3rd to September 27th of 2024
The Grant covers flight, visa fees, insurance, accommodation and living expenses, and educational expenses.
The working languages of the course are French or English. Fluency in French or English is a must (both written and spoken).
Applications must include the following documents in English or French :
• The filmmaker’s CV, filmography and links to previous works
• A cover letter, detailing the need for the residency
• A short synopsis
• A treatment or, if available, the last version of the script
• Recommendation letters (minimum 3)
• If available : name, CV and contact of the producer of the project
To participate in the competition, please, ensure that the documents (in PDF format, arranged in the specified order and readable, in French or English, with a mandatory Armenian translation) are sent online to the email address: scriptwritingresidency.ncca@
Submissions are accepted starting from March 1st.
The application deadline is March 30, 2024, at 23:59.
PLEASE NOTE: Late, incomplete, and non-formatted documents will not be considered.
The Grant Competition will be held in two stages.
1. As a result of the online pitching, the Cinema Center's Committee will select the three best projects from the author-applicants. The pitching will be conducted in English or French
2. The three selected projects and their video recordings will be sent to the CNC and the Cité Internationale des Arts for the final selection of one project.
NOTE: Online pitchings will be recorded and stored for as long as needed to be reviewed by experts for decision-making.
The video recordings of the three projects selected by the Committee are to be presented to the French side.
