On November 16, at the Cafesjian Center for the Arts - Special Events Auditorium, a book presentation titled "Make Films and Keep Silent" ("Memory") by renowned film director Artavazd Peleshyan took place in the presence of the Master himself. The publication is a memoir encompassing the author's childhood, youth, and familiar episodes of his life. Artavazd Peleshyan dedicated the book to his mother's memory.

The presentation was attended by RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan, Deputy Minister Daniel Danielyan, as well as film industry representatives and enthusiasts of Peleshyan's art.

Congratulating the Master, the RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan said: "We have been waiting for this event for more than half a year and planned to arrange a meeting with the Master earlier, to hear his valuable insights. Times are difficult, moods are changeable,  and we are full of concern, however, these  days it is particularly important to talk about art and culture, value what we have, gain strength through it, and overcome all existing challenges. I won't be exaggerating to say that Peleshyan's art is the force that allows us to move forward, and I think that generations should also appreciate it."

Zhanna Andreasyan also mentioned that the prospects of establishing a film school named after Artavazd Peleshyan are being discussed, so that students who see their future in the world of cinema can learn from the Master.

Artavazd Peleshyan also gave a pleasant surprise to the attendees - breaking the vow of silence, the Master told some of the cherished and beautiful memories of his life.

"Many years ago, I lived in the hotel "Armenia". One evening I ordered a call to talk to Parajanov. We talked for a long time, discussing various topics and even gossiping about the studio management. The conversation lasted over an hour, and when I hung up, another call came right away. It was a post office worker, and she said that she couldn't charge me for my call because she had never heard anything like the conversation between me and Parajanov before. She asked to meet, and the next day she came to the hotel.  She told me that if I wanted to call abroad, she would allow me to talk for free. I replied saying that I didn't have any foreign connections," Peleshyan recalled.

The collection of Artavazd Peleshyan's memoirs is a work of significant interest, targeting not only the cinema audience familiar with the renowned director but also the entire reading public.

Peleshyan's memoir was published with the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport within the framework of the 100th-anniversary programs of Armenian cinema.
